Narrative

The Individual Supports program provides one to one and favorable ratio opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to work toward developing their daily living skills with the goal of becoming as independent as possible. Individual Supports participants live independently, with family. The Individual Supports program is highly customizable, and activities, approaches, and services are tailored to suit the needs of each participant, and their family.

Our goal is for our clients to develop competency in areas such as financial management, meal preparation, self-advocacy, transportation, and other skills necessary for being an independent adult. Individual Support program staff work with clients both one to one and group settings toward maintaining a healthy lifestyle, engaging in social activities, and living a full and fulfilling life. Group activities such as meals, activities, and fitness are part of our weekly program.

LIFE is a unique non profit program that has been serving adults with learning and intellectual disabilities for more than 25 years. We offer a flexible range of options within and outside of our Supported Independent Living condominium communities located in Hyannis, Mashpee, and Plymouth areas, serving adults with a full range of learning differences. Each location offers state-of-the-art fitness centers to facilitate health, wellness and socialization;  professional, highly-skilled staff to nurture, support and educate; an after-hours hotline for emergencies, and ongoing communication with families.  Each community also features access to public or LIFE sponsored transportation, ample opportunity for employment, and  easy access to fun things to do.
