Narrative

The Education Cooperative (TEC) is a Massachusetts educational collaborative and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that develops and coordinates educational and organizational programs to meet the needs of our member communities and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their school programs and expands opportunities for their students, educators and communities in the most cost effective manner. Originally established in 1968, TEC became an Educational Collaborative in 1980 under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 40, § 4E and is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

The TEC member districts are: Canton, Dedham, Dover, Dover-Sherborn, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Medfield, Millis, Natick, Needham, Norwood, Sherborn, Walpole, Wayland, and Westwood.

We offer an array of specialized educational services for students with moderate to intensive disabilities ages 3-22 and provide families with local choices to meet their child’s individual academic, vocational, social, physical and health care needs. All TEC programs are specifically designed to provide meaningful and authentic inclusion opportunities in the next least restrictive engaging educational environment. TEC programs are embedded within the Metro-West Region public school districts as well as the beautiful TEC Campus School located in East Walpole; a Public Day Special Education School Program fully approved by DESE and home to TEC's Intensive Programs (PreK – age 22), TEC Alternative High School (Grades 8-12) and TEC's Transition Program (age 18-22).
