Narrative

Transition House works to prevent and end domestic violence (DV) through education, outreach and intervention. For more than 35 years, we've offered a full circle of care and support for adults and children overcoming the trauma of family and partner violence. We're a lifeline—the place where hope and healing begin. We work with hundreds of adults, children and youth each year focusing on each individual's strengths and needs.

Our trauma-informed programs emphasize personal empowerment, economic self sufficiency, education access, job skills development, permanent affordable housing, positive parenting, youth development, strengthening resiliency and overall wellness. We are also the source for youth education, peer mentoring and counseling on healthy relationship development - critical violence prevention initiatives in our community.
