Narrative

The professionals at the Northshore Education Consortium provide vision and mobility services in the Northeast region. They instruct students with visual impairments including those with multiple disabilities in the skills essential for their participation and access the curriculum.  These services include the use of functional vision, curriculum accommodations, Braille, and assistive technology and all areas of the expanded core curriculum. Orientation and Mobility Specialists teach students how to travel safely and independently in their environment. Our vision professionals work directly with students and also provide consultation to teachers, families, and related service providers. The staff also assist each student to transfer learned skills from the classroom to the community.
