Narrative

Waypoint Adventure facilitates programs primarily within the metro Boston area and also offers programs in western Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Waypoint chooses from a variety of program locations to specifically meet the needs of each individual or group. Waypoint does not own an outdoor facility but makes use of both public and private property for its programs. This allows participants to experience the exciting range of New England’s natural resources and enables them to return to local green-space after a Waypoint adventure.

Waypoint’s leadership team has received training in outdoor leadership through the following institutions: University of New Hampshire Outdoor Education Program, Montreat College Outdoor Education, SOLO Wilderness Medical School, National Outdoor Leadership School, Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics and the American Canoe Association.

Waypoint Adventure helps to make programs accessible through a variety of cognitive and physical supports including: differentiated instruction, off-road wheelchairs, skit-skis, adaptive kayaks and adaptive rock climbing harnesses and ascending systems. Participants join Waypoint programs through a variety of reputable schools and organizations including Boston Public Schools, Perkins School for the Blind, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Cotting School, and Boston University Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
