Narrative

We are a nonprofit organization founded in 1978 and headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We partner with many organizations and our trip participants come from all 50 states and many countries around the world.  Share the Adventure is not just a slogan for us. If you have a disability and you want to go on a trip where you are treated the same as everyone else, you’ve come to the right place. Since 1978 WI has conducted integrated adventures for persons with disabilities as well as people who do not have disabilities—as equals and peers. Our mission is to provide real outdoor adventures for everyone.

Our programs are dedicated to making high-quality outdoor experiences accessible for everyone, including those who do not typically get out and enjoy the wilderness. Our trips are designed for everyone from novices to seasoned outdoor veterans. In addition to fully guided trips, we provide training for other organizations and outdoor skills workshops at community events. We also raise money to provide scholarships to make our programs financially accessible to everyone.
